From this page you can browse the comprehensive range of Great Plains and Great Plains Simba trailed and mounted tillage equipment, soil looseners, presses, consolidation roller systems, Yield-Pro planters, cultivator drills, air drills and compact drills.
10' Mounted No-Till Compact Drills
The Great Plains 3P1006NT is a 2-Point Mounted No-Till Drill with lift assist wheels to ensure safe operation and transport.
Maximum Disturbance. Maximum Performance.
Centurion CDA drills combine innovative features alongside proven technologies. From the highly effective cultivation discs and consolidating tyre packer to the accuracy and consistency provided by the drills’ seed distribution and placement system, the Centurion is designed and built to deliver outstanding performance and reliability.
The Centurion is equipped as standard with two gangs of 460mm diameter notched cultivation discs mounted in pairs on hub units with ‘sealed for life’ bearings to keep maintenance to an absolute minimum.
Great Plains has raised the bar with the introduction of the 8000 Disc-O-Vator Narrow line of four models specifically designed for narrow transport needs and can be purchased in 15' to 24' versions. Seven-inch shank spacing with 9" sweeps ensure good cutout.
Short Disc Harrow
Complete with a host of new features and options, the new generation of X-Press short disc harrows, the X-PressVX, can be used for a wide range of applications.
Whether you need shallow cultivations as part of a cultural grass weed control strategy, stubble cultivation incorporating residue, cultivation and levelling of vegetable ground or ploughed land, the new X-PressVX has got what it takes to get the job done.
Drill with minimal disturbance, into heavy residue and cover crop
The Saxon CDA Drill is a unique, low disturbance cultivator drill developed for the latest establishment techniques.
The Saxon mirrors the looks of Great Plains’ Centurion cultivator drill and shares all of its key features around seed delivery, seed placement and consolidation. However, the Saxon differs from its sister drill in one key area.
Effective consolidation plays a crucial, but often under-appreciated, part in modern arable farming. The Simba Aqueel II enables farmers to consolidate seedbeds after drilling and optimise crop performance.
It minimises moisture loss, facilitates improved drainage and water infiltration and ensures excellent soil to seed/root contact, while also protecting soil against erosion at a time when it generally has no green cover and so is at its most vulnerable.
The Simba CultiPress combines several well-proven elements to complete three actions in one pass - cultivating, levelling and consolidating the seedbed to leave a weatherproof finish that is often ready for drilling with no further cultivation. This range is more suitable for use on heavy ground.
Cultivation at speed is provided by leading tines, either Pro-Active sprung tines or shearbolt protected rigid units, which are available on all models.
The benefits of selective soil loosening should never be underestimated, particularly following a wet autumn. Healthy root growth is essential if crop yields are to remain high. Any subsurface pans must be identified and then removed.
Incorporating the latest technology, the Flatliner offers the perfect solution.
A choice of two ranges provides maximum shatter of deeply embedded compaction layers with minimum surface disturbance across the working width. The Pro-Lift leg and point provide a very effective soil conditioning action with prolonged wear rates.
The Simba ST Bar with between 4 and 7 ST tines can be fitted ahead of Mounted X-Press models with working widths of between 2.5 and 4 metres. This transforms the machine into a one pass cultivator for tractors between 145hp and 220hp. ST tine options include Shearbolt protection and Bolt-On units. In addition, LD (Low Disturbance) tines are also available.
The Great Plains Simba TL is a linkage-mounted cultivator designed primarily for use on lighter soils, and in rotations including root crops and vegetables. It features three rows of spring-reset cultivating tines that can work deep enough to incorporate large volumes of trash, such as potato haulm or the remains of field vegetables, or perform a thorough soil loosening action ahead of further cultivation.
